literacy program. Ganado Primary School is a public school
located on the Navajo Reservation and in one of the poorest
counties in America; come and hear how this school turned
adversity into opportunity and led to the school’s
being named the Number One School in Arizona, 1995 and a
National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

School, the Number One School in Arizona 1995 and a National
Blue Ribbon School of Excellence (1997). The presentation

and writing process and will provide participants with theory
and practice. During the course participants will gain insights
into the ways that journals can be used to enhance learning.

to play with poetry? Join poet and educator Sigmund A. Boloz
as he demonstrates ideas for generating and improving your
own and your students’ poetry. The author of ten books
of poetry, Mr. Boloz will examine the ingredients of a success
poetry workshop and demonstrate collaborative poetry writing
techniques. After you leave this session, you will want
to dive into poetry.
